Beginner Surf Lessons
Never stood on a board? Perfect. Taghazout's gentle beach breaks (Crocs Beach, Hash Point, Tamri) are forgiving in a way that almost no other surf destination is. Soft-top boards float you, sand bottoms forgive your falls, and the warm water means you can stay in long enough to actually learn. Every lesson here starts with a 20-minute sand-school covering the pop-up move, paddling technique, and how to read a wave. Within the first hour you're in waist-deep water riding white-water — by the end of the session most beginners stand up and ride 4-5 waves on their own.

Will I really stand up on my first lesson?
Almost certainly. Our success rate for ages 12-65 is around 95% within a 2-hour session. A board push from your instructor + soft white-water + a forgiving sand bottom = a recipe Morocco surf schools have refined over 30 years.
I cannot swim well — can I still take a beginner lesson?
If you can swim 50 metres comfortably, yes. Our beginners stay in waist-deep water where you can stand up at any time. We don't take genuine non-swimmers because the safety risk in even small waves is real.
How fit do I need to be?
Less than you think. The pop-up motion is a single push-up. Paddling tires shoulders but you'll only do 2-3 minutes at a time. If you can climb stairs without getting winded, you'll be fine. Most lessons leave you tired-good, not tired-bad.
What's the youngest age for a beginner lesson?
8 is our minimum, and 8-year-olds do brilliantly. Kids that age have a low centre of gravity and almost no fear, which makes them progress faster than adults in many cases.
