The Timlaline dunes sit on the coast near Tamri, beyond Taghazout, where golden sand runs down towards the Atlantic. This is where our sandboarding sessions happen: the guides hand out the boards, explain the technique and point you to a slope that suits you, from gentle first runs to steeper faces. Pick a straight half-day session, a sunset run that ends with mint tea and Moroccan cakes, or build a bigger day by adding an hour on a quad, the pools of Paradise Valley, or a sunset camel ride and barbecue dinner. Every option includes hotel pickup.

Do I need any sandboarding experience?
No. The guides teach the technique and give tips throughout, and because the dunes vary in steepness, each person can pick a run that feels right. The half-day session is open to all levels.
Where are the dunes and how do we get there?
The Timlaline (Timlalin) dunes are near Tamri, on the coast beyond Taghazout, facing the Atlantic. You are driven up the coast past Aourir and Tamraght; several tours stop at Aghroud on the way to see its colourful houses by the sea.
How long does a session last?
The half-day tour runs about five hours door to door and includes a canyon stop. The sunset tour with mint tea is around four hours, and the sunset and canyon tour about four and a half, with roughly 90 minutes at the dunes. The combos run from five hours (with the quad or the camel ride) to about ten and a half (with Paradise Valley and lunch).
What is included?
Boards and equipment, an air-conditioned vehicle and hotel or port pickup and drop-off on every tour. The half-day includes bottled water and a small local banana; the sunset tour includes mint tea and Moroccan cakes but not water. Lunch is only part of the Paradise Valley combo, and dinner only of the camel ride combo.
Can children join, and how fit do I need to be?
Yes. The half-day and the sunset and canyon tours take children from the age of one, with infant seats available, and the sandboarding and quad combo from three. Climbing back up the dune is the workout, so a moderate level of fitness is recommended. The tours are not wheelchair accessible and are not recommended for people with back or heart problems or for pregnant travellers.
