From 544 MAD per person
The Timlaline dunes sit on the coast near Tamri, beyond Taghazout, where golden sand runs down towards the Atlantic. This is where our sandboarding sessions happen: the guides hand out the boards, explain the technique and point you to a slope that suits you, from gentle first runs to steeper faces. Pick a straight half-day session, a sunset run that ends with mint tea and Moroccan cakes, or build a bigger day by adding an hour on a quad, the pools of Paradise Valley, or a sunset camel ride and barbecue dinner. Every option includes hotel pickup.

Drive the coast from Agadir or Taghazout to the Timlaline dunes near Tamri, try sandboarding, explore a secret canyon and watch the sun set over the ocean.
From 469 MAD per person
For a first go, the half-day session is the simplest: a drive along the coast with WiFi on board, a stop at a canyon for photos, then the dunes, where the guides help you choose a slope and you ride down and climb back up as many times as you like. Bottled water and a small local banana are included.
The sunset tour trades the canyon for the golden hour. After short stops at the colourful houses of Aghroud and at Tamri, the Banana Village, you sandboard as the light turns gold and finish with mint tea and Moroccan cakes. The sunset and canyon tour spends around 90 minutes at the dunes, adds a secret canyon with your guide and closes with the sun setting over the ocean.
If one activity is not enough, three combos share the same dunes: an hour on a quad through the countryside by the sea; a sunset camel ride followed by a barbecue dinner, in a group of no more than 12; or a full day that starts with four hours in Paradise Valley and ends on the dunes with lunch and mint tea.
At the dunes your guide hands out the boards and equipment and explains how to stand, balance and stop. The slopes vary in steepness, so you start on an easy run and work up to steeper faces at your own pace. There is no lift: every run means a walk back up the sand, which is where the legs get tired and the photos get taken.
On the sunset tours the light changes quickly in the last hour, and the session ends with the sun dropping into the Atlantic beyond the dunes.
Wear comfortable clothes and closed shoes, and bring sunscreen, sunglasses and a camera. Water is provided on the half-day tour; on the sunset tour with mint tea, bring your own, as water and soft drinks are not included. For the Paradise Valley combo, pack swimwear and a towel for the pools.
Pickup is from your hotel in Agadir, Taghazout, Tamraght, Paradis Plage or Aourir, or from the Agadir cruise port, and you choose the point at checkout. Guides on the half-day speak English, French and Arabic; the sunset and canyon tour also runs in German. The sessions depend on the weather: if one is cancelled for bad weather, you are offered another date or a full refund, and every tour can be cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours before the start.
