Agadir is southern Morocco's largest beach resort — 10 km of Atlantic sand, a cable-car-topped Kasbah on a hilltop above the marina, and 300+ days of sunshine a year. Rebuilt after a 1960 earthquake, the modern city centre is grid-laid, walkable, and built around the seafront promenade.
For travellers, Agadir works as both a relaxed beach base and a launchpad for excursions across the south: Sahara desert in 12h, Marrakech in 3h, Paradise Valley and Souss-Massa wildlife park in under 2h. Most international flights into the south land at Agadir Al Massira (AGA).
